MOONRISE KINGDOM tells the story
of two young troubled kids who have fallen
in love and decide to run away together, but
that’s only the spine of the story – this is
Wes Anderson we are talking about, the
guy responsible for the brilliant Rushmore,
The Darjeeling Limited and The Royal
Tenenbaums so you’ve been warned!
There is something exciting about a new
Wes Anderson movie – the stories he weaves
into a movie picture are fascinating, his fun,
colorful characters mostly weird are so
engaging to the viewer and his terrific camera
work, sometimes almost Kubrick in style
enhances the Anderson Experience.
With the distinct direction of Anderson
Moonrise Kingdom was an enthralling
watch, one of my favorite movies of 2012.
Written by Wes Anderson & Roman Coppola
this movie has many great attributes – no more
than the two young actors making their screen
debuts – Gilman (Sam) and Hayward (Suzy)
who were both delightful – their first kiss and
their dance on the beach was pure magic.
There won’t be many movies that are better
than Moonrise Kingdom this year so take
yourself to the cinema and enjoy!
