Sergio Leone

Sergio Leone was born in Rome, Italy – 1929
he was the son of Vincenzo Leone one of Italy’s
great cinema pioneer’s and his mother was an
actress from the silent film era Bice Valerian

In my teens I discovered the “Spaghetti Western”
& a trilogy of westerns that starred Clint Eastwood.

These movies were helmed by Sergio Leone &
known as The Man with No Name trilogy:
A Fistfull of DollarsFor A Few Dollars More &
last but not least The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

After directing Eastwood in the best Western
Trilogy that has ever been Sergio Leone was
invited by Paramount to travel to America and
direct Charles Bronson and Henry Fonda in
the classic – Once Upon a Time in the West

After his American exploits came the Mexican
Revolutionary tale starring James Coburn
Duck, You Sucker also known as:
A Fistful of Dynamite

In the 1980’s Sergio Leone turned attention to
Once Upon a time in America a movie set in the
1920-30s about gangsters in New York City
this was to be Sergio Leone’s last movie.

In 1989 on the 30th April Movie Director
Sergio Leone died after suffering a Heart Attack
