Margin Call

Directed by J.C. Chandor
Cast Kevin Spacy, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons,
Zachary Quinto, Demi Moore, Simon Baker

The Movie is based around the 2008 Financial
Crisis, it follows a US investment bank just before
the 2008 street meltdown.

It’s stellar cast and solid directing brings the
realism to the screen and although the movie
suffers with lack of real tension the actors keep
you interested right to the end credits.

Chandor has directed a good Wall Street Movie
but i’d be surprised if it makes the Oscar cut.

Martha Marcy May Marlene

Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011)
Written & Directed
by Sean Durkin
Cast Elizabeth Olsen, John Hawkes, Sarah Paulson

A fantastic movie with a sensational performance
from it’s lead Elizabeth Olsen & a wonderful
Movie directorial debut from Sean Durkin.

Olsen plays Martha, a young woman who flees
from a cult & sets up home with her sister
whom she has not seen or spoken to in 2 years.

What follows is an engaging Psychological
thriller, watching Olsen’s tourmented soul
fight her demons and try to regain her identity.

Once again John Hawkes (Winter’s Bone) shows
his pedigree as the creepy cult leader but it’s the
young Elizabeth Olsen who is the movies find.
